ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Please be aware of the fact that I am trained in the handling, rehabilitation, and husbandry of wildlife. I do not condone the ownership of wild animals as pets, and do not recommend or encourage that untrained persons try to handle or approach wildlife of any age. This baby raccoon was rehabilitated and released back into the wild soon after this photograph was taken. Thank you for respecting our planet and it’s wild inhabitants!

Jo Clancy was born in Iowa City, Iowa in 1966. She was raised in a military family and has had the advantage of living and traveling throughout the United States. Jo moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2001 when she was accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She is not currently a vet student, but still has a desire to specialize in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine. Her not-so-secret goal is to become a superhero and save the planet, one animal at a time.

Photography, for Jo, is a passion. She is virtually self-taught having only taken a one-quarter class in Photography in 1999 to learn how to use a borrowed camera. Jo’s love of nature and world-travel have given her some wonderful opportunities to develop her photography skills. She sincerely hopes that you find some of the joy in looking at her photos, that she has had in taking them.
